What is Local Love League?
Local Love League is a non-profit, love-powered, creativity-driven effort to support the Indianapolis community in times of need. Since love can't do all of the heavy lifting, we're selling original apparel & merch designs by local artists, hand printed by local businesses, to generate financial support. Love is contagious. Spread the word.
When was Local Love League launched?
Local Love League filed as a domestic nonprofit corporation on April 11th and officially launched on April 17th, 2020. Our initial launch was during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic, with the goal of raising funds for service industry workers. While we continue the original fundraising campaign, we have expanded as we would like to support more communities throughout Indianapolis.
Who is Local Love League and how did it start?
Local Love League is a collaboration between Indianapolis based creative studios Guide & Anchor (Sara Jean Potts & Joey Potts) and Matinee Creative (Amy McAdams-Gonzales & Matt Gonzales)- both of which are two member husband & wife teams. Both of our studios work heavily with food and beverage clients so we could see first hand what a struggle the Covid-19 pandemic was going to be for business owners and their staff. We were eager to find any way we could to help, even if only on a small scale...we had a few brainstorming sessions and the Local Love League was formed! We were fortunate to partner with United State Of Indiana for their expert hand printing & fulfillment services.
Who has contributed to Local Love League?
We are lucky to live in a community with a ton of talented Artists and Designers. Artists/Designers are not paid to contribute, they do this as a way to help support local communities and organizations. 06/2020 our Artists/Designers include:
